Has anyone switched from Sertraline to Venlafaxine? Experiences

After an appointment with my psychiatrist we decided that my antidepressant needs to be changed as it isn't working and I'm on the highest possible dose.
He has advised switching to Venlafaxine.
I'm on Sertraline 200mg so I have to taper down this medication by 50mg a week before I start the new one.
I have read things on the internet about withdrawal/starting a new med.
If anyone has done this I'd like to hear your experiences, particularly any side effects and how severe they were.

I have changed medications a few times now, have found in the past that I have felt a bit more anxious/uptight etc when lowering doses but that was all as far as I can remember.

Currently on Venlafaxine and have been for a while now and have to say it has been really good at stabilising my mood and anxiety.
I’m at the highest dose but I’m ok with that, it’s what I need and will probably be on it for a while yet.

I was/am on low doses so just switched without any issues.

@Cherryblossomrocks just wondering what dose you are on? How high can you go on venlafaxine? I was on 150mg but down to 75mg now.

375mg is the highest you can go for Venlafaxine.
I’m on 3 x 75mg in the morning, then 2x 75mg at night time.

I was on Sertraline years ago, then changed to Venlafaxine MR.
Now take 337.5mg.
I do have some side effects and still get down days but nothing like the awful depression I had before.

I'm on venlafaxine 300mg. I feel a bit numb but that's better than the alternative. I've tried citalopram,fluoxetine and sertraline in the past but they didn't work.

I was on 150mg sertraline and now on 225mg venlefaxine. Didn't have any withdrawal from sertraline, had been on it about two years. Venlefaxine I have to take after food else I am sick though. If I miss a dose I get lightheaded.
