Sick of Tax Credits

I made a claim as a single parent 3 years ago and would you believe it STILL has not been sorted out properly. Instead they have been sending me manual payments through the post.

These have been going smoothly for the past few years until now...right on christmas they have decided to stop them with aparantly no reason why.

I was already stressed about christmas as I was skint as it was, this payment was supposed to be my christmas shopping one but now it doesn't look like it's coming and if I know tax credits...they won't sort this out until after christmas.

I don't know what to do, I was feeling fragile anyway but this has sent me over the edge, I feel like going to bed and crying over it.

I asked the bloke on the phone if there was any way I could get some money until this was sorted out and he said I "might" be able to get an emergency payment from the local office...that's great, £90 or so to cover the essentials until the new year.

didn't want you to feel ignore and i agree the tax credits are shite. They over paid me one day by over £2k. I paidnit straight back but for over 2 years they said they ahd no record of it so were deducting the amount from my payments. Then they said they had it but couldn't stop taking money off me. I had a letter last week to say they are looking into my claim from 4 years ago - but i won't affect my payments etc in anyway - wtf. pooh shite crap rubbish and any other crap words you can think of - not even my MP could sort if out
