Fluoxetine/ propanolol and breastfeeding toddler

Wondering if anyone has any advice for me since my GP has not been very helpful at all sadly.

I recently did an online consultation with my GP about the possibility of going on fluoxetine and/or propanolol for anxiety and low moods. I had taken both briefly a few years ago and found them very effective but stopped due to pregnancy and then not feeling like I need them. However I feel like I could benefit from a bit of extra help from them at the moment. I am still breastfeeding my 26 month old fairly regularly during the day (a result of lockdown stuck at home all day...)

I explained this on the online form and have received a very short reply saying that a prescription for me will be available to pick up. I am not feeling confident about taking them being the right decision with such a brief quick reply from the GP.

Does anyone have any experience of fluoxetine/ propanolol and breastfeeding? I’ve found conflicting advice online.

If you're on Facebook, have a look at the Breastfeeding and Medication page, or the breastfeeding-and-medication.co.uk website. It's run by a pharmacist who specialises in info about suitable medication for breastfeeding mothers. I think they're pretty responsive to queries.

Thank you, I’ll take a look.
