Just that really does anyone take them long term ?
I have recently started back on the last few days. Previous taken then for three years stopped back in June. First few months were okay then the anxiety and overthinking can back with major force.

I tried yoga, healthy eating, no or little alcohol tried to avoid anxiety inducing situations. This proved to be difficult as lately work has been extra stressful. I’m a single mother which comes with it’s own stressors.
I did used to attend a regular exercise class which really did help but with Covid that’s stopped.

When my anxiety is at it’s worst I can’t eat properly, sleep is disturbed. I overthink everything it makes my physically tired. I also get stress headaches.

I do worry about the long term effects of taking this medication. I also worry that the gp will stop prescribing them. I used to feel embarrassed asking the gp for them in the consultation now I just ask outright as anxiety and all it’s side effects is horrible.

I think I’m just accepting it now that I need to just keep taking them that the quality of life without them is awful.
Anyone else in the same boat ?

Anyone ?....
Like I said I need to accept that I will be taking a/d for the long term...
I can do this.

I need to think about other coping mechanisms to complement the things I already do.
I miss my exercise classes . Miss seeing friends as much.

I take sertraline for anxiety and have for a few years now. I can't see myself stopping it as it makes my life so much better. It doesn't bother me that it's a long term thing... my GP seemed happy with it too, he just said some people need the extra lift.

I’ve taken high dose fluoxetine and lorazopam for anxiety and also sleeping tablets for about 11 years now. I’ve tried other combos during this time but these are the ones that work best for me. I see it as a necessity to keep me well - like taking tablet for high blood pressure or something like that.’
