Morning I have been prescribed citalopram for anxiety and have been taking 10mg for a week now, due to increase to 20mg from today as per.doctors.orders. Has anyone experienced this drug before? When did the side effects ease off?.Thanks in advance xx

Gosh sounds positive. Good call about the car journey Midnight stay safe. I drove the other day and I still felt focused, but it wasn't a long journey.
Day 7 some nausea tiredness and weepyness. But moments of feeling ok. My sleep is getting better. Be interested in how you get on Whydont on going up to 20mg Smile
Encouraging that people have come off them too. I know I'm on them due to poor MH, I know that's not going away overnight, but I'm glad I started them. Lots of love to everyone ThanksCake

I was on 40mg for 18m. I felt incredibly lethargic for ages, and sleep was bad. Liquid melatonin helped.

Towards the end I felt totally emotionally numb, so that's why I decided to stop. Stupidly I went cold turkey and the side effects were horrific, so dizzy and queasy. Lasted 4-6 weeks.

Morning, just wondering how everyone is getting in? whydont did you increase to 20mg? I started on Tuesday, been feeling a bit nauseous and spacey and haven’t slept properly in days. Hoping this is as bad as it gets! Hope everyone is okay

Morning all! I’ve been on ADs since before Christmas, started on mirtazapine, switched to sertraline after a couple of months as I want getting on with them, then after lockdown my surgery had trouble getting hold of that and switched me to citalopram. I’ve been in 30mg for the last 5 months, and have just been dropped down to 20mg with a view to reducing again to 10mg in a couple of months then weaning off completely. For people hesitating about taking them, it’s been an absolute life-changer for me. Yes you’ll probably have some side-effects for a few weeks, but it was worth it to be able to feel genuinely happy and hopeful for the future.
Wishing you all the best with your journeys.

Hi I took 20mg for the first time today and I've felt great this evening. Fingers crossed it continues!
