Asking to swap meds today very frightened.

I have bipolar and schizophrenia and I take 20mg of olanzapine now I've gained 4 stone and I have a chart showing that olanzapine the worst for weight gain out of anti psychotics. So I'm asking to be switched to holoperidol but anxious about psychiatrist saying no. But at the same time I'm anxious about if he says yes how they are going to do the switch.

Doctor agreed as 4 stone weight gain is unacceptable so switching to haloperidol but it's going to be a rough few weeks as have to wean down my olanzapine first before gradually increasing my haloperidol.

How you doing op ? Are you managing to cope, I can’t imagine how hard it is!!
Don’t let the gp taper you down to quick, there great at doing this to people but wouldn’t themselves

Being honest I'm in agony I haven't been able to leave the toilet all day, my bum is sore my muscles ache, I only slept for 4 hours and I've started seeing and hearing things badly, I feel agitated all the time. Also as I'm on the shielding list I have no support and have 3 dc with SN to look after alone.

Oh god. Perhaps try again another time,in a few mths when things have settled a bit in the outside world.

I want to do it during lockdown as new medication is supposed to make me drool and have spasms for a few months so hoping that be over before I start seeing people.

Jesstan yes I'm sure Believe me wish I wasn't. I suffer psychosis outside of bipolar episodes, I show no emotion when I'm not in a episode, I sometimes mix my words up. I live in constant paranoia. I cannot learn anything new from the day my schizophrenia started despite having been very intelligent, I cannot even watch tv or play a game that I haven't already played. I do not let people touch me like even on my hand. When I'm manic my psychosis centers around God which is normal for bipolar psychosis when I'm not manic my psychosis centers around police and government it is two very distinct different patterns.

Probably triggered by my shooting up amphetamine
