Hello,

I'm really just a little lurker on here and never post, but with things being a bit miserable with all the news at the moment, I have noticed that social media & forums are making my mental health worse.
Is anyone else having the same problem?
I have actually took FB off.

Speak soon Hmm

I came off Facebook after 2 weeks when it was first around. It would have been disastrous for my mental health. I’ve never regretted my decision.

If you hide the Coronavirus section of Mumsnet life improves immediately.

geordielass1980 · 22/03/2020 20:20

I have felt so down! I don't even want to go back to work it's that bad. I may need to speak to the doctor! I was hoping coming off social media will help 😩

I’m with you.

I’m actually looking forward To work tomorrow as I won’t have enough time to spend on here working myself up.

I spoke to my GP and I’m back on the my ADs. Two weeks ago I started to wean myself off as I was feeling really well. What a mistake!

AnaphylacticAnnabelle · 22/03/2020 20:25

Agree you are absolutely right, I've been wondering about benefits vs. MH disaster of continued usage.
This includes Mumsnet which is as bad quite a lot of the time but still good the rest of it!

geordielass1980 · 22/03/2020 20:33

Well I work in mental health so have to go in, but this is making my mental health work.
I'm already diagnosed with GAD. But there are no stories of how people have overcome it. It's all death. I don't want my children seeing there mum with physically or mentally sick 🤢

@potplant did you get an appointment ok? I'm having trouble sleeping again, so need to ring up

It was a telephone appointment but had no trouble at all. Phoned at 8 and he called me back at 10.30. I would have been waiting weeks under the normal system.

It's so hard. FB is actually ok for me as I can interact with friends on there and I've muted all the idiots. I think MN has been the worst, but I'm like a moth to a flame. I can't stay away.

geordielass1980 · 22/03/2020 21:14

Yes I am going to ring in the morning. I can't keep going on like this. I can't sleep for keep reading, if it's not this, it's fb, if it's not fb it's the news then the news channel constantly.
I am an absolute wreck, it's just me and the kids at home and it's hard putting a brave face on x

How do you hide the whole of the corona virus section from a mobile?

MerryDeath · 23/03/2020 07:08

coming on mumsnet makes me so much more anxious. and actually that applies to my life pre- CV too. i took a long break and didn't miss it but it's crept back in again. i'll quit one day Confused

geordielass1980 · 23/03/2020 08:22

Yeah I haven't been to bed all night, all I have done is read.
Constantly read! I have an elderly mother keep wanting me to go to the shop for her, to do this and that. Then screams at me because I won't go in her house with the children. I just can't win!

Turning off AIBU and Coronavirus on here helped me immensely yesterday.

geordielass1980 · 23/03/2020 15:14

Yeah I've came off it! I am so fed up! No one is showing anyone getting better, and I can't deal that!
