I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced significant hair loss as a side effect of taking sertraline? I've been taking it for about six weeks and within a few days of starting, I noticed there was much more hair than usual in the hair-trap after I'd had a shower. It's now like that every time I wash my hair - I'd say I'm losing twice as much as normal.
I had very thick wavy hair, and it's now looking distinctly thinner and drier. I can never use enough conditioner or oil on it, it's just like straw.
I'm going back for a medication review at my GP next week and I was actually planning to ask to up my dose, as my anxiety is starting to sneak back in. I'm a bit worried that I'm going to start getting bald spots, though, and I don't know if there are any other SSRIs that don't have this kind of side effect. Can anyone help? I just want to be armed with the knowledge ahead of time.
