Hello,
I've been really struggling with my mental health for some time and have been in and out of a&e for abit. I was assessed by mental helat who said I needed an admission I wondered out and was brought by police under a 136. I was assed under MH act and told if need to come into hospital this was two days ago. I know it differed from area but how long did you wait? I want to leave as they have no powers to hold so they're seeing if they have to let me go. This is all to much.

Are you in an ordinary hospital ward? What kind of MH problems are you having?

I'm in the 136 suite at my local mental helath ward, I have psychosis, ptsd, bipolar and a couple other symptoms and struggle a lot with self harm. Apprently this is the only thing they think will keep me safe.

I can't help with how long it'll take, but can hand hold/chat if you need it Smile

Sorry to hear you’ve been having a tough time. I think it varies from area to area and how much of an immediate risk you are to yourself and others. Or just plain lottery.

From experience, I rang 111 in a right state, I was really unwell. Spoke to a Dr on the phone for about half an hour, told me he would ring me back, which he did. Was told to go to my local psych hospital for urgent assessment and was admitted that night.

I’ve heard that’s quite unusual though. I hope you feel better soon and get the help you need Flowers

I have been sent to hospital straight away. Once from the psychiatrists office.

My friend has been waiting for beds in hospital but usually after two three days they have thought she is stable enough and sent home.
