Anyone else spending New Years alone because of mental illness?

I was supposed to be having friends round for New Years tomorrow but the bout of depression has really knocked me down and I just don’t feel up for it. I know I was feel awful being alone but I just can’t face the pity and sympathy and awkwardness of having friends over who know about it. Anyone else alone too? I think I’ll just go to bed early and sleep through it!

Whilst I won’t be alone, I know how you feel. The head-tilt and the ‘how are you feeling?’ said in a higher-than-normal voice. Hope you’re ok.

I don’t think I will be celebrating. My depression has been bad this year and it has just been a horrible year in general.
I didn’t go out on Christmas Eve as I had a meltdown and I hate New Years Eve anyway.

I am glad to be getting rid of this year, but I am terrified of 2020 and it is already causing me to panic.

I think I will try and sleep through it too, but have bad insomnia and worry.
