Are these anxiety symptoms? Does anybody else get this?

Lately I get: heavy/weak feeling in legs/overawareness of bodily sensations/body/feeling uncomfortable in clothes/constant fear of going mad??

I have always had anxiety disorder but don’t know if this is normal??

Yes I've felt like this. If you feel your symptoms are getting worse, try to speak to your GP about it.

Yes, often when I am transitioning from a stable period to a difficult one this is one of the first symptoms. I start to be hyper aware of feelings in my body, especially in my legs and I will start to feel very itchy all the time or will be unable to get comfortable. The next step is that I start worrying about things like DVT, heart attacks, sepsis etc but that usually comes after a couple of weeks of my body feeling wrong.

Thanks @CrazyKittenSmile do you find it settles down eventually or gets worse?! Going through a stressful period with changing jobs at the moment which always is a trigger...

Usually it settles down as I am more aware that it’s linked to anxiety rather than real health issues now and am able to remind myself it’s just my brain. I have had it very bad in the past and been back and forth to the doctors convinced I had all manner of things wrong with me but that was some years ago now. For me it is a sign that I’m under stress so I can usually catch it now and try to put in place some of the strategies I’ve learnt to help reduce that stress.

I find drinking plenty of water also helps alleviate the heavy legs and I take iron supplements which I think also help. I think when I’m anxious I’m not as good at remembering to eat and drink properly and that this does make the strange body sensations worse.
