I feel like 2019 HAS to be the year I take charge.

Are there any good books about to help me on my journey?

Overcoming Anxiety
Overcoming Depression

  • both by Chris Williams

If you want to understand more about depression, there's a book called Malignant Sadness that is very good.

The Compassionate Mind by Paul Gilbert

A second vote for The Compassionate Mind - probably the best one I've read so far.

I haven't ready the book but the TED talk The Power of Vulnerability by Brene Brown is inspiring.

I also like the 'this book will make you....' series. Titles include 'calm', 'sleep' , 'happy' and they cover anxiety and depression in a way that is quite lighthearted but supportive and not too cheesy.
The Headspace App & accompanying book are very good too.

'The Worry Cure' Robert Leahy really struck a chord with me too.

I second Self help for your nerves. Easy to understand, soothing and caring.
