Have you switched from Citalopram to another med?

I'm on Citalopram max dose. Have been on it for years but I've just had/am perhaps coming out of a major depressive episode. Is there another med I could try? I don't think I can go through this again. I don't have anxiety, just deep depression.

Anxiety is my predominant over my depression but I switched from citalopram to Escitalopram. I switched and did a dose increase. I’m not overly impressed. I think that I’d have possibly benefited more from a drug less similar to Citalopram but others in forums have thought it a good switch. It’s my anxiety that it isn’t helping though.
