Any ties to anxiety/ocd/depression and perimenopause?

Hi,

I've recently been diagnosed with anxiety/ocd/depression. I'm on duloxetine and diazepam. I'm due to start an antipsychotic in the new year, but I'm beginning to wonder if it's linked to starting menopause? I'm 37. My periods, which are usually clockwork, are now irregular. Some are light and last a couple days and some last weeks and are so heavy I can hardly leave the house. I'm not on any contraception.

The psychiatrist suggested speaking with the GP about hrt to help with mood swings.

Has anyone got any experience with this? I feel like hrt would be preferable to antipsychotics.

Anyone in the day time crowd?

I feel the same. Until now have refused meds but unsure as to whether anti depressants are the right course...they may work but surely this is hormonal rather than depression?

Thanks Monkey. Antidepressants are definitely right for me. It's the antipsychotics that im worries about. I've had a call from my GP and she wants to see me before starting them.
