Take the pills or not take the pills? That is the question.

I was diagnosed with mild PND just over a month ago.I was prescribed a low dose of ad's. I felt fine taking them so I stopped and now I'm just starting to have symptoms of PND again (tearful at certain things). But do you think I should start taking the pills again or am I being overdramatic and should fight this without medication. My dh doesn't think i need to take them but I don't want to feel the way I did again. Any advice?

definitely take them

you should take them for at least 6 weeks, then have a review with the doctor..also, stopping taking them suddenly is not recommended.....

not up to your DH, you feel low, and the tablets were obviously helping, so go back on them, and keep up with them, until you are on an even keel ...

Id take them for as long as they were subscribed for.

And not to be rude but I'd take the doctors advice, not your dh's.

Doctor has probably seen PND a lot, your dh probably hasn't.

I would take them, I have suffered PND which started off as low and quite quickly developed into major and needed hospital treatment, I really dont want to scare you but I didnt take the tablets when I was first offered them as the stigma attach. Now on the other side, now that Im well I would , no question added- why do you need to feel bad, why do you feel the need to cry for no reason? its up to you, if you feel better taking them so do it!

I think you should see a counciler (i think i spelt that wrong) or talk to someone and get to the root of why you feel like you do. I was on ads and as soon as i came of them it started up again. So i talked to someone and it helped me. I find ads only help while your on them, you don't have to lisen to me but talking to someone did help.
