Just that really
I started it about Jan last year after some reasonably successful CBT.
GP suggested about 6-12mo after I felt like "me" again. So I probably felt normal again about 6-9 mo in. But I'm really nervous about the idea of stopping the tablets. I expect GP will bring it up again at whenever my next medication review is.

Probably 2 years or so - At 40mg. I stopped without any go help and tbh didn't do the correct reduction, when you come off definitely reduce doses slowly!

Why do you want to come off?

Don't rush anything. Very slow withdrawal required from this one.

I am not sure I want to come off, but it clashes with other medication so it might be nice to take that again.
I'm not really sure though. I do feel better on it. But I felt OK for all these years till now.
Also it looks like I'm going through the menopause and I have no idea how that would affect my moods.

Think I was on it for about a year and happy to come off in the end, as although stable, I felt 'flat'.

Hopefully you can set your own pace for coming off (or staying on). If you do come off, do it slowly as pp said. I didn't get mood swings as I feared but I did get weird zapping sensations every once in a while. Manageable but v odd.

I was on it for a couple of years, at 40mg for quite a lot of that & then came down & off very, very slowly with GP's help.

I could feel the shifts in my brain as I went down, which was quite strange. Almost like insulation being removed.

6 years now.
Started at 20mg with PND, up to 30 then 40 when I stabilised. After 2 years down to 30 then 20. That took 4 months, quite stable on 20 for another year then life crept up on me and went back up to 30mgs. Dropped back down to 20mgs in February after 18months on 30.
I've always noticed the drop each time before adjusting. Levelled out on 20 now, plan is another 6 months then look at coming off altogether.
However, it does work so well for me that I could quite happily take it for rest of life. I'd like to come off eventually but after all the ups and downs I've had if a small dose keeps me stable then so be it.
