documentary on ch5 now brought back a lot of emotion

DS2 spent a lot of time in hospital last year. Including at Great Ormond Streeet Hospital. I have just turned on the tv and there is a documentary on that was being filmed when we were there. It has nothing to do with my DS and the cases are totally different, but it has brought it all back seeing inside.

Does this mean I am not over it? I thought I was

Your reaction sounds completely human to me losty - anyway I think that all of your experiences shape your life - you don't get over them, they become a part of who you are and you learn to live with them IMO. Big to you

sorry, losty, i don't know your story, but if my ds had been poorly and in hospital, i would probably well up seeing it. actually, my ds is fine and i can't even watch fictional children's hospitals!!

losty i'm the same, my niece had leukemia and was treated at the middlesex hospital and when ever i hear anything about that hospital it just makes me go cold. She had all her treatment there and it fully recovered now.

they have just gone in to the threatres reception - OMG. I wish I coulkd turn off, but I cant

wow that lady who is caring for the other child - shes is an angel - they ony met in the street and she absoutely loves him to bits.

I am in a dreadful state here. This is ridiculous. Everyting over the past 4 and a ahlf yuears is coming back. I feel awfl

don;t thikn you ever get over it, just gets less painful , but things like this bring it back to the forefront and make the pain all to real again

i imagine it brought back all the feelings you had then and that is ok, and nothing to be frightened of

and in a few days, it will be back in the background and not so raw again

don;t be so hard on yourself, you have a lot to deal with day to day ,you are stronger than you give yourself credit for x
