Just realised that I've been forgetting to take my ADs

I'm on 10mg Citalopram. Since half-term began, so about 10 days, I think I've only taken them once. I feel fine.

I've been on this dosage since I started taking ADs about 18m-2y ago. They have made an amazing difference to my life. About 6m ago the GP reviewed me, but I was struggling with a bit of a downswing, and was not ready change. He was happy to keep prescribing. I've come up out of the downswing, and I'm wondering whether now would be a good time - seeing as I've accidentally stopped taking them - to stop completely.

10mg is a pretty low dose so easier to come off in theory. However SSRI withdrawal can be tough, and really needs to be managed carefully. You will still have some in your body and you need to taper off not stop completely. How many days do you think you have been completely without them? You should really speak to your GP, but if you feel you are coping well then yes it might be a good time to stop. I have been on Citalopram for many, many years and after several relapses am unlikely to ever be off them completely. I'm glad you are feeling so well, good luck!

I think I took one in the middle of the week, so I probably had 5 days without, then one dose, and it's been another 5 days since then.

If you can get a pill cutter (from chemists) you could try cutting a pill and taking 5mg every other day for a week or so, then 5mg every 3/4 days for a couple of weeks, then stop. But you do need to speak to your gp! I'm only basing this on my many years of withdrawing from various ADS, I'm not a doctor!

That is how I came off Flouxetine both times, just realised one day I'd not taken it for ages and felt fine!
