Moving from citalopram to sertraline - what to expect?

Just that really, I've been on citalopram since May 15 on 40mg and don't think it's doing much for me (apart from making me fat) as dark thoughts and my anxiety is hell. The doctor has given me sertraline to try, changing over slowly.

Are there any side effects to sertraline? Anything I should watch out for as I'm switching?

TIA

I did this about three months ago. I had side effects when starting citalopram so I was expecting to feel rough for a bit. Sertraline made me feel sick and dizzy for about five days and really emotional, I started on 100mg and when this upped to 200mg all the side effects stopped. Worth bearing in mind if you're easing on to it. I had to reduce citalopram bir by bit, it was tough but overall I think it's been worth it. I feel better on sertrline, less stressed and less synthetic- not sure how else to describe it! Good luck, be kind to yourself!

Oh no, sorry it didn't help. I'm really hoping it works for me because I really need to feel better.
