I suffer from agoraphobia and have done for the past five years but I haven't ever felt like people have understood how debilitating it is. It's so bad at the moment I haven't left the house for 3 weeks which is why I've been referred.
I have a telephone appointment tomorrow but don't know what to stay to ensure i get the right help. Please help!

They will ask you questions about what is going on for you. Answer as fully as you can and then they can see how best to help. It sounds scary, but it's ok.

Try not to have any distractions around you if possible so that you can talk.

I am agoraphobic myself and have had a telephone assessment and the woman was really nice and patient.

Good luck.

You should be honest. Don't minimise the problems it causes you

Hope it goes well
