Is there anywhere you can talk to someone online?

I just wondered if there is anywhere online where you can talk through something with a councillor etc. would really appreciate a professional opinion but can't ask the GP as it's about my sister and and the Samaritans doesn't seem right as I just want to know if some events that occurred many years ago could have triggered some MH issues in my now adult sister?

Yes here! Or Samaritans or if you look at the top of the page MNHQ have a mental health web guide and if you click on there it will take you to organisations that might be helpful. You won't be able to talk to a counsellor though as they charge for their services and wouldn't talk to you about someone else.

Do be aware that you might not find a definitive answer to your questions. The interplay between our life experiences and our physical and mental health are complex issues, and it isn't usually possible to pinpoint something as a trigger.

Yes I think Samaritans would listen to you if you said it was about you. Bear in m mind they are a "listening service" and are very non directive. But you could give it a go. I don't think you're going to get a professional opinion to be honest even if you said it was about you. From the little you've said, I don't think any professional is going to give you a definitive answer.

There is so little known about brain disorder which is tough for those of us struggling with MH issues.

Wouldn't your sister seek help from a GP/MH nurse/Psychiatrist?

No... I've offered to go with her but she's not interested at all!
