changed my name for this cos I know some mners in RL and dont want them to know how I am feeling. Just feel low, feel everyone else is having a nice time with lots of friends and family while at home its just me,DP and DD.

Cant think of a single person to call to say 'do you fancy popping over for a cup of tea'. Lived here for 2 years, still dont really know others well. Havent realyl got to know anyone at DD's preschool. She is 3.

dont really know why I am posting on this. Just feel so lonely and want better for me,DP and DD. Have tried to meet others but havent really had much success. feel something is wrong with me.

Hi restless
just wanted to say that my experience sounds similar; have really tried to make pals at these toddler groups some hits and alot of misses and some downright nasty types too.
When it happens on the wrong day it can be awful, I know, left the park in tears one day as group of mums and a dad from playroup would barely acknowlege mu existence, fortunatley had my sunglasses on that day!
Now think it is their loss, big time, and can laugh now, and really want enjoy the time w/ ds 2.9 as it will all be over sooner than you know and i do want to make the most of it.
Since this, have met a few friendly people here and there, they are out there and will pop up when least expected!

also, I felt too aware of giving out the 'desperation vibe' (have no family nearby, friends at work and also moved to new area and boy was desperate!)
i think it all works like law of playground did, and did actually get befriended by whitetrash bully type which was worse than no pals! Have extricated myself from that and now treat it all like you should interviews i.e. am there to see if I want them not t'other way around!
it will come good, there are some nice folks around, be yourself big smile and hard shell needed sometimes!
