Insomnia and twitchy legs on Citalopram

Hi all, I started on a 20mg a day dose of Citalopram on Tuesday and straight away (as in Tuesday night) I was unable to sleep properly, I just cat napped and fidgeted all night. This has carried on every night since Tuesday and I'm so exhausted.

Last night a new element popped up to disturb my sleep which was twitchy legs.

Anyone have any stories of hope for me? I'm really hoping these side effects slow down soon!

I always have those issues on anti depressants, so always take mine in the morning. Twitchy legs are less noticeable when you're up and about.

I know anti Ds can make some people sleepy, which is why they take them at night, but it has the opposite effect on me, so do morning instead.

Would taking them in the morning be an option for you?

SSRIs like Citalopram can make people sleepy but paradoxically can be extremely activating for others.
I took it in the morning and was still wide awake and panicking at 4am.
Have you tried taking it in the morning?
