Not sure if go with the permanent version (I don't have any tats), but the transfer one is fine.

I think it's a ridiculous idea really.

Why not get a t.shirt/badge/car sticker instead?

The would be more noticeable and 'in your face' than a little tattoo.

How on earth is a tattoo going to help end stigma?

Talking openly, sure. Campaigning or blogging, maybe. Defending folks with MH issues and challenging stereotypes and abusive language, absolutely.

Getting a random tattoo that many won't get the meaning of, and will just look a bit overused, no.

I don't think it would end stigma but it might be recognisable to others who understand what the symbol means (like prisoners getting a little bird tattoo to show they've done time - bad example but the only one I can think of!).

Also, the first time I read about this it was adopted by people who had attempted suicide.

I quite like it that it could be a private reminder that life goes on, that phases come to a pause or an end, while new, connected phases will follow.
