Does this indicate i need a stronger dose?? or indeed a different AD? any advice? it's getting me down. I don't want to wear black tops forever.

Ho wlong have you been taking them?

madmarchhare · 24/11/2006 20:44

OK, see from your other thread what you are taking and for how long.

When I have taken this in the past, part of the transient side effects were sweating so I imagine that your gp would want to see you taking them for a while longer before changing your dose or indeed changing to another AD if you are not suffering any other side effects.

madmarchehare - how did u find escitalopram? other than the nausea in the early stages i feel fine. it's not helping the social sweating though, I need to make an appt with my GP soon as i have nearly finsished my 28 day course.

Overall, when I got over the initial sweating, dizziness etc they worked well.

I have recently had to try something else though as I couldnt get through the early stages this time with having DS to look after.

If you have to go back anyway you can discuss it then.

I see from another thread you are having some counselling too, maybe you can learn some coping strategies for when you are in a social setting.

I found that ADs alone were great, but with the right counselling too, even better.

It can be a pain getting the dose right sometimes when all you want to do is feel better. Im sure you will get there at some point.

I find MN a great source of comfort whenever I am struggling.

Keep posting and let us know how you get on.
