We all had a really lovely, I was still feeling very anxious when we got there (even my aunt commented on how worried looking i was) and had a bit of panic b4 i left too where i didnt think i could go (so not quite sure if the diazipan did any good). When we eventually got called into to have meal, i immediately located the loos (for an escape if needed), but the meal came, for starters i had smoke salmon it was really lovely (it was all posh like though with onions and garlic), and that was no nice there was no stopping me..lol. For main course i had a trio of meat with roast pototoes and veg, and for dessert i had well it was like a mint choc mousse. The thing that helped i think for me, was in between our courses we could get up and down, those that smoked went for their fags, so i up and down nattering. I really enjoyed myself. My mum, my sis and myself all a bit of a tearful moment though, as we were eating our dinner that song My Way came on, its my was late nans favourite song, i sat there and the imagine of her saying 'oh my favourite' came into my head and then here singing along to it, my sister legged it over to me and said you noticed the song that they are playing, so id think she was with us at that time.

But im so pleased i did it.

Good for you!
You did just the right thing - gave yourself options for getting out if you needed to - that way you didn't feel trapped. Now you know you can do it and you'll have the confidence to face other gatherings of family or friends in future.

Don't know your history, but sounds like you overcame some big hurdles to do this - you should be very proud of yourself. Congratulations.

mummyjo35 - sounds as though you did brilliantly, then! In future you'll be able to play it back in your head to help you cope with other situations.
