hi. i was prescribed citalopram a while back for panick disorder. anyway, the side effect were horrendous so i stopped taking it.

i was wondering if there was mild anti-depressant i could take which didnt have horrible side effects. i suffer with panic disorder and mild to moderate depression.

as soon as i walk out of my front door i break out in a sweat. i have mentioned this to my GP and he said its some kind of panick attack and prescribed citalopram which were awful. i just want something that is going to make me calm in social situations and not break out in a sweat.

help

don't want to leave you unanswered

might be worth some help with the panic attakcs.and getting to the root of the anxiety...

there are other ADs, go back to GP and ask for some different ones...

however, the side effects do diminish...usually need to give them 3 -6 weeks to take effect.and the side effects do'nt always last that long

My mum was prescribed citalopram for panic disorder and they made her feel extremely ill, she went back to the gp who has now given her new medication that has made a big difference! Go back to your GP, tell them the tabs make you feel worse, they should give you an alternative.
