Hi, I'm due to start counselling soon. I have wanted to do this for a really long time as I think it will really help (emotionally abusive mother and bulimia causing anxiety)

Just wanted to hear about other people's experiences, did it help and how?

Thanks Smile

Mine (for off the scale anxiety and fertility problems and everything fucking else) was amazing

Do it, op.

Even if you're not convinced give it some time and if you're still not convinced, consider another counsellor.

Absolutely amazing. Got me back to work and changed my out look on life. So happy now.

Thanks, it's great to hear how positive it was for you both.

I'm wondering how you start talking about things on the first session, what they may ask or if they just listen. I can talk a lot haha.

it was really easy actually, first session she just spoke about what had been going on, she explained what the sessions would be like etc. She didn't say very much actually she really just asked questions that led me somewhere, she just put me on the path so to speak...

Counselling worked wonders for me. It can be bloody tough at times but it's so worth it. I learned to matter to myself, to be more at peace with myself and I stopped feeling like I was at breaking point every day.

Good luck with it!

It's hard work but I've had really good, life changing experiences. Best of luck!
