Honestly, my anxiety (GAD) was horrific and was building up to a manic level - I felt very scared. I went to the GP and even though I didnt want meds he prescribed me Citalopram, but after reading the side effects and that I could suffer for another 2 weeks I had more anxiety. I remember reading about alternatives and did some googling and came up with the fish oil/primrose cocktail. I wanted to try the 5HTP to help with sleep as also trying to exercise but body cant relax after and lack falling asleep.

Its either a fluke or there are some very positive effects from these supplements. Within a few days I actually woke up feeling kind of happy(ish). My sleep isnt brilliant but I havent got that awful fog.

I also suffer from mild CFS/Fibro so I'm in that eternal wheel of fatigue/miserable.

I eat quite a lot of fish, consume a low carb diet (partly paleo) eat nuts etc but that made no difference to my mood.

Can these supplements be helping me - is it this simple?

If it works for you then why question it?

I want to see if anyone else finds relief without meds and if this is a good long term chose - if I know there is evidence that it works then my confidence can only peak.

A friend is taking 5htp and said she feels so much better than she did, all within days of starting them.
