Thought it was about time we had somewhere to get us through the season. Hope everyone bug free for the moment! Pull up a chair and have a Brew!

Just came looking for the seasonal thread Grin

I have been extra anxious since trying to buy motilium at the chemist last week to be told it's no longer available over the counter Sad, I quite often feel sick and I rely on taking these. Today has been a big test, I always feel sick the day before I ovulate ( have been to the gp about this and am getting nowhere ) and today it hit me, bad stomach cramps, feeling very sick and the other end, I'm trying so hard to be brave, I havn't eaten for hors so I know I won't be sick, I know I will be fine tomorrow ( always am ) but my anxiety levels are extra high. Have taken myself to bed in hope to sleep it off.

I will be going to the gp after half term to ask for motilium on prescription. Half term will be spent at home away from germy people.

Hi marne, we've 'met' on here before I think.

Please let me know how you get on with your GP re the motilium as my GP stopped my prescription because of the recent scare and I need it, he prescribed prochloperazine instead but it doesn't work as well.

DS has gone to stay with his dad for the rest of half term, it's weird, I think my mind is having a mini break from anxiety!

TheCunkOfPhilomena · 01/11/2014 19:26

Oh crap, anxiety time.

An online fellow emet friend has caught something and been sick twice now. I feel so bad for her and so anxious as she had taken 3 motilium, 1 ondanestron and 1 avomine and it still happened Sad

I hate this time of year.

I'm going to the gp as soon as kids are back at school, have been a wreck this week and have hardly left the house. The man at the chemist said there's no reason why a gp wouldn't prescribe motilium unless you have a hart problem ( fingers crossed I will get it ), apparently the risk is so tiny.

I hate reading posts on fb about stomach bugs. Have even seen photos of kids with buckets ( why would anyone post that? ). Motilium has worked for me in the past, I was sick after taking it once last year when I had a abscess but I think that was due to being given codeine ( I did tell them I couldn't take it ), I was given another anti sickness drug too but was still sick.

TheCunkOfPhilomena · 01/11/2014 20:28

I really hope you get it marne.

I am going to see the GP this week if I can and see if he'll prescribe me some too. I am so scared right now. I am also going to ask about getting hold of this vaccine, even if I have to borrow money to get it. If it works then it'll be the best thing I've ever purchased.

I really struggle at this time of year, so many bugs going round -but when aren't there?

dd 13 came home from school with a tummy ache today, now she feels sick. I'm in a total panic. Luckily dh is a star and takes care of her, but I still can't stop panicking.

I've been taking ADs for 8 months and hoped things had improved, but they haven't helped with the emet.
Sad

Couldn't get an appointment until Friday, going to be on edge until then, I'm going to have to beg them for the tablets Sad, has anyone else managed to get a prescription for them yet?

marne2 · 07/11/2014 12:45

No Motilium for me, gp refused it but gave me buccul (sp) instead, feeling a little anxious about it, not sure if it will work as well but I guess it's good that they let me have something.

autumnsmum · 10/11/2014 19:36

Hi all total panic here! Dd2 has thrown up everywhere , she has had a cold so I'm
Hoping it's just phlegm but it's been horrible , poor girls asleep now

TheCunkOfPhilomena · 12/11/2014 22:20

Oh no autumn, just read your post, how are you and your dd? Really hope it was a one off and you're recovering now x

marne that's prochloperazine isn't it? That's what my GP transferred me onto as well.

thedevilinside · 12/11/2014 22:55

I tried to resist temptation to click on this. Am having CBT at the moment, and yes watching the videos is becoming easier, but there is no way I can get over this phobia when I am so terrified of vomiting myself. Hope your dd is ok Autumn and that it was just a mild throw-up once bug ( I find adults don't catch those ones). Very distressed about Motillium being no longer available :(

autumnsmum · 13/11/2014 04:57

Thank you both, dd2 threw up because of a heavy viral cold not a stomach bug , it has destroyed my nerves obviously it's totally not her fault , she is 5 and autistic but the lack of warning and the thought of it happening again is scary
