Having a shame attack about amount of debt and still buying everyone presents..

I have a lot of debt, credit cards, loans, over draft etc.
I have done Christmas presents and bills on credit card for the past month or so, I'm now seeing how silly that is and am feeling so terrible.
I get my student loan in January and will use half of it to pay the past 2 months rent which I'm in arrears for, Ill then move in to my bfs house so will at least get the deposit back on my house.
I feel so stupid for making these choices and it's affecting my energy levels.
Any empathetic response welcome.

Oh love. Money is emotional and complicated. Often we spend more, to avoid feeling we have little. This time of year is hard.

People who love you won't expect much, they'll appreciate a thoughtful gesture instead. Are there things you have bought that you can return?

Longer term, Moving to cut rent costs sounds good. How about debt counselling, to help you organise your debts and come up with a plan to clear them. You'll feel so much better to face it head on. Are you open with bf about your money problems? You could it down and do a monthly budget for outgoings, so that you don't keep adding to your debt.

No worries. Do sit down with someone and look at your debt systematically - consolidating and prioritising will probably save you a fair hack of interest. And your university may well be able to offer practical help. Don't feel you have to be alone. Good luck, and happy Christmas Thanks

Thanks happy christmas to you too. Ive signed up for Christians Against Poverty money course in the new year so that should be good.
Thanks again
