If you are not naturally competetive , how to cope with competition?

I have never been very competetive but I do have a slight competetive streak.
When younger, I was never very good at sport and used to give up if the going got tough with regards to all kinds of pursuits from gaining badges in girl guides to D of E.This has not served me well.
I am still intimidated by competive people and get easily upset by competition. How to cope?

I know exactly what you mean - competitive people are actually uncomfortable for me to be around.

The way I tend to look at it is that they're putting in so much effort that they must be constantly exhausted - that makes me feel a little sorry for them, which makes it easier.

I don't have any good advice I'm afraid, except the above, and to try to focus on the negatives of being competitive to make it easier to be around them.

HTH a little!
