My GP referred me for an assessment over 6 months ago. Having heard nothing, I chased it up, and was told there had been a mix up, but now that had been resolved, it would still be at least 12 months before I would receive an appointment for the assessment.
I asked if they could recommend someone to carry out the assessment privately, and contacted them. they arranged for a psychiatrist to phone me twice, but they never did.
I contacts the Priory, and they said it would cost £1000 which I can't afford.
I asked BUPA and they do not provide such a service.
Where else can I try to get this assessed ? I am really struggling, and feeling overwhelmed with it all, I do not know where to turn....
I live in Devon, but am prepared to travel.
