Try your health visitor or the local nursery nurse college as they often have students looking for a placement.

have you asked surestart/homestart

Littlefish · 11/04/2006 14:44

Are you taking them regularly, every day? Are they working for you? 8 weeks isn't a long time, yet you may feel much better in another week or so.

monkeytrousers · 11/04/2006 15:32

When I hurt my back I asked the HV if there was any respite care and she said the only think available would be short term fostering.

Have you tried Homestart - its a charity that provides volunteers to support parents who need a bit of help. \link{http://www.home-start.org.uk\link here}

They might be what you need.

Martini · 11/04/2006 23:58

Sorry - noticed that someone else has suggested Homestart but am not sure if you looked at their website or Surestart's. Anyway do try Homestart - their website says they will support any family who needs them and it sounds like you might.

Good luck

Great news - I'm really pleased for you. Its amazing how a little break can just give you the space to think a bit more clearly sometimes. I hope it works out.
