I have been reducing my dose quickly since last thursday. I'm surprised I feel brighter and less foggy and far less conciously anxious. However my anxiety has turned into physical symptoms i.e chest pains and tightness, weak shaky arms and pins and needles infingers on occassions. I have also had a couple of headaches, blurred vision and nausea in morning. But all in all not too bad yet :)

It sounds like your body is physically detoxing, what are you taking?

Hi,

On Citalopram, which made me unbelieveably anxious. Much prefer physical symtoms to mental ones! I'm detoxing fast to change meds which I start a week on Monday - Mirtazapine. Hoping that won't be too bad and I don't turn into a cabbage!

I'm 2 weeks next Tuesday on 10mg of clitalopram for anxiety, it hasn't really made a difference. GP gave me Diazipam to help me sleep for the a week or two but after the first few nights (I was exhausted) that doesn't work now either Sad

Sorry I can't be much more help, how long we're you taking CP for?

Hi, I started on 20mg but didn't really feel any better until four weeks. I did stop crying everyday tho, but the flip side was I didn't really feel anything at all towards anything/anyone.

I started on Citalopram mid May, it did help a lot but I then I started having panic attacks.

Don't be put off tho, there are lots of positive stories I have read. Each and everyone of us is different.

Wishing you health and happiness

Sorry I can't really comment on sleep problem. I haven't really had any problems in that department, pretty much sleep through every night.

However, I've heard lots about Mirtazapine given to those who struggle to sleep (which oddly is not me). I'm worried it will make me too groggy......

It's such a mine field isn't it.

I feel I don't want much, I want to be happy towards my DC and in control at home and work, my work hours suit my DC and I still have this horrid anxious feeling that they will all die without me and sleep doesn't want me.

Sorry to hijack your thread, I hate meds, my only experience is before DC and having a lovely stint on a MN health ward! Not an option now so I need to get on with it.

I know it won't help you but your thread has helped me think I need to admit to my GP that the meds arnt doing what we thought they would although I need to do school and work so I cant be a cosy zombie.

Course you can post, it's good for us to all talk to each other. Yes you should talk to your GP.

I have been feeling much better today and yesterday. No major side effects just a very heavy pressing feeling in my chest like a rock or someone pressing down hard.

I even went out socially this eve for first time in months, just for tea. I have also been sharing pictures and posting on Facebook which is something I haven't been able to do for a while. I've even concentrated long enough to watch tv.

I like being on 10mg at mo and hope I suddenly crash again or get worse. It is concerning about my chest discomfort tho, not sure if I should say to GP to stay on Cit a bit longer at 10mg or go onto Mirtz as planned?
