Going into a mixed episode and brain is tormenting me

I've got bipolar and am currently going into a mixed episode. I'm quite hyper, my brain is pretty speedy, I'm anxious, irritable, tearful and a bit physically restless. And to top it all off my brain has been stuck singing the same two lines from 'Band on the Run' by Wings for the past two bloody days. Constantly. I hate Wings. I loathe Paul McCartney (quite like Linda's chili tho).

Why does my brain hate me so much?!

Christ, you are right - it must hate you, paul mc cartney of all things!!!! Confused.

I don't really know very much about bi-polar but i can relate to the anxiety and know that it is pants. What do you usually do to help yourself to feel better when you feel like this?

Your brain is mean. Do something cruel to it, like, make it do complicated sums or something.

It's really good you're so aware of what's happening though. Sounds like you manage well.
Try to stick to your routine, don't stay up all night.

Hmm, can you try to replace Wings with another really annoying song? Or does that not work?

It'll probably add more annoying songs to the list as the episode goes on! The faster my brain runs the more capacity it has to irritate me. I had to do complicated sums earlier today (working out change in child care costs for tax credits makes uni level statistics look simple), just gave me a headache. I'm going to take a zopiclone before bed tonight, at least I'll get some sleep that way. 2girls, I cope by channeling all the excess energy but that doesn't work forever unfortunately. Sometimes with bipolar it gets out of control despite all your best efforts to contain it. You just have to try and ride it out without doing anything too outrageous, expensive or damaging!

Are you medicated hun? Sounds like you need to make contact with MH prof. My experience is that mixed episodes are pretty dangerous xx

Ow, what an awful earworm. Find something you enjoy and do it. Then clean the bathroom. I do know that trying to distract the head when it's in one of these states is no mean challenge: but at least you'll be trying & might get somewhere.
