What will GP do for PND? Can I ask for Escitalopram (only thing that works for me?)

Title says it all. I have a month old baby and a 15 month old toddler. I am not coping at all - I feel bleak and miserable and like I'll never feel happy again. I have had depression in the past so I know the signs.

I have a doctor's appt today - can I just go in and say I think I have PND and can I have some Escitalopram?

Hi. So sorry to hear this. Ive just been diagnosed with pnd too. Yes, you can. The doctor should talk to you about how you're feeling and may also refer you for counselling.

I hope you feelbetter soon.
