Hi. Newbie so not sure where to post. I'm bipolar 1 and was put in quetiapine a week ago prior to birth of third child for anxiety and preemptive strike against a depressive period post party's. Idiot psychiatrist told me I could breastfeeding, the hospital refused to discharge me until
I agreed to formula feed. Very unhappy and after advice from on call psychiatrist have discontinued the meds, they are giving me side effects in any event. My question is this - has anyone swapped from bottles to breast at about four days old; can it be done and do you have any advice for me? I'm currently awaiting the midwife for a visit but am anxious for all the help I can get.

Many thanks
Aimee

I swapped from bottle to breast at 2 weeks so yes it can be done. Frequent feeding and lots of skin to skin contact x
