Side effects of fluoxetine-how long do they last?

wonder if any one can help me. Was started on fluoxetine 20mg yesterday and feel really odd today.sort of on edge and jumpy. Not relaxed and feel a bit disconnected from things plus a few hot flushes. Is that poss after just one tab? Bit worried as on my own with the dc (single mum) and have nobody around to help.just need to know if these side effects will go away.to be honest didn't want to start the tablets as feel a failure but couldn't carry on as I was. Thank you for any help.

I'm 2 weeks in and just starting to feel abit normal but I did a straight swap from another ad that's got bad withdraw effects. The main side effect for me is anxiety. Which is a bummer as that's the reason I'm on the tablets but I've been given some benzos to help me. Stick with it and hopefully side effects will reduce after 2 weeks and u should see a benefit in 4 weeks. If side effects are too much maybe see if u can do 10mg for 2 weeks then increase to 20 mg

ive been on them for 2wks (20mg), felt very anxious, nauseous, shivery and odd night of no sleep. but things are just starting to look less gloomy now, still have off days but im feeling better.

i also worried about taking them with kids to look after so i took mine after DD went to sleep and didnt worry as much.
