I don't plan on harming myself but I don't want to be here. I'm clawing at my skin because I want to get out.

I nees to get away from this. Am having a panic attack.

DashingRedhead- thank you.

Doggie- You can borrow him but you'll have to send him back afterwards. Don't expect him to help too much around the house though, he's not perfect!

Citalopram made me SO tired it got to a point where I would remember every other day and then every 3 days etc. It was slow comibg off them but don't worry I'm pretty clued up- DP is a dr and I am a biochemist. I would never have just stopped taking them straight off.

It's bad news on the job front but I feel calmer now. I'm appalled at how my company is treating people. They're telling people that because they refuse to go and work in an area an hour drive away that they are making themselves voluntarily unemployed and so the company wont pay redundancy.

oh, blimey - im a biochemist too! Grin And I have to say - science is a crock of shit just now isn't it. I am struggling to get back into things after a really long break. I came off the citalopram slowly, but im not sure i came of slowly enough - i am still anxious and have an appointment with mental health team on monday to discuss CBT.

Im sorry it wasn't good news about your job. Can i ask who you work for? I am in the south east and whilst i wasn't working at pfizer when they upped sticks it left a flood of scientists with more experience than me in the job market so ive had no chance. I am sure you will find somehting quickly though. I'm going to try and set myself with a GTP next year and give teaching a go.

You do seem calmer, i think its the not knowing that is the head fryer. I think the weather is going to be nicer this weekend so maybe a trip out somewhere to take your mind off things?

Have you considered any other SSRIs? Part of me wants to go back on them because my anxiety levels are high just now but like you, i was tired and pretty much out of it on citalopram, but my doctor mentioned serteraline which is better for anxiety than citalopram but citalopram is used first because its cheaper Shock im not sure if that is true or where i read it though.

Spotted, I don't mean to sound heartless (been made redundant and I really do understand) but at least it's a certainty now not something to worry about. I hope that you feel that too, sooner or later.
