When you are feeling down, blue, maybe a little anxious, what little things do you find help you?

I am not talking major depression or anxiety, just a mild blueness and anxiety which hopefully will pass soon.

I have opened the window, showered and washed my hair. I mean to achieve some little tasks today to make the day feel more fulfilling.

What else do you try?

I see friends or go for a walk somewhere new preferably with a nice little cafe too for some people watching.

A run also does me wonders but I often find it hard to force myself when I feel like this paradoxically. Grin

Hugs, chats, cuddles, hot showers, exercise, nice food, extra sleep.

Exercise is a great one, even just a walk or cycle somewhere. A latte and cake in my favourite cafe. A tickle with my children. Asking my middle son about his day at school is great therapy because he always says something to make me laugh.

Oh Yes!!! If my ds is giggling his head off I can't not smile!

Thank you. These are lovely ideas. I forgot to mention in my OP that I am recovering from a bout of illness so I am not up to full blown exercise but I have been pottering in the garden today and it feels good to have fresh air to breathe. Smile A guy from the water board came round with some bad news though Sad - I am not going to think about that for now. Oh, and dh is away otherwise the cuddles would be top of my list too.

In that case - curling up with a good book in a sunbeam in the garden would go to the top of my list. :0

That sounds good GinP, just wish there were more sunbeams around here!
I also like to:-

Have a nice cup of tea ( with necessary choc biccy)
Or a gin/vodka/whiskey or glass of wine (if I run out of tea...)
Read a book or magazine (not celeb tat, something a bit more classy)
Do some craft - card making or embroidery, if stressed I can almost feel my blood pressure reducing
Watch an episode from my DVD collection eg The Golden Girls ( can NEVER fail to cheer me up), The Goodies or a Columbo episode or a nice old film
Light candles and cuddle up with DH
Listen to my DCs having fun/laughing
Watch the birds in the garden
Go for a walk somewhere nice (pref with no dog shit - not easy)
There are lots more but I'm off to watch Corrie now!
