I was referred for counselling and have had 3 sessions so far. I now have a months gap in between my appointments cause it's half term then the counsellor is on holiday for 2 weeks.
How do I make it through the next month?
I have a bad feeling of CBA and 2 DC who need entertaining/looking after.
I have no support apart from DH who is at work.

What type of counselling are you having? And why did the doc not want to give you ADs?

It was for anxiety but to be honest I feel more down than anxious now. The doc said she wanted to see if the counselling worked first before she let me have AD's.

Depression and anxiety may be linked but they aren't one and the same. Counselling may well arm you to deal with anxiety much more effectively than meds anyway. Did your counsellor give you any techniques to use in your own time?

CBT then for anxiety? Try to spend some time every day putting into practice what you have been working on. The time will soon pass. There will always be breaks in counselling due to holidays and stuff.

Thanks for replying.

I'm finding it hard today cause DH is back to work so feeling lonely I guess. I know that sounds a bit pathetic! I need to get a grip but it's hard when feeling down.

If i got a penny for every time some said 'I need to get a grip'. It's not about getting a grip, that sounds like there isn't a real problem. You can get through though. Can you send dh a text, just with some silliness? Sometimes some contact is all it takes.
