GP has been lovely, offered to prescribe it on a couple of occasions, but I have resisted.
Finally given in, I am sick of feeling so anxious and stressed and I am finding it hard to cope
I have tried hard to change the stresses in my life, but a lot of them are out of my control.
I'm not depressed, we've discussed that.

About 4 hours!
And I'm wide awake

Sorry, not read whole thread. You're taking it to get to sleep? In my experience, it doesn't necessarily make me tired. I reckon I fall asleep having taken one on the occasions when I have worked myself up into a frenzied panic (hence taking diaz). When the panic subsides, my body then shuts down. So the drug is not directly making me sleepy iyswim.

Its been prescribed for anxiety, and was hoping it would relax me as I feel so stressed and tense, big knot in my chest.
Don't have any problems sleeping really, but was at least thinking I could benefit from that side effect!

Ah, really sorry it doesn't seem to work. Would you take another (to make 10mg)?

No experience with it but I do take citalopram and propranolol (beta blockers) for anxiety
I have also just come off Cerazette (mini pill) as I read a lot about it being connected to anxiety and that has made a massive difference
Also had cognitive behavioural therapy which helped

I had my second tablet last night (5mg) and slept from 12.30-6.30 without waking first night I was still waking every hour or so but falling back to sleep straight away without a panic. Can't remember last time I slept so well usually I get really wound up and panicky, I'm only to take them every other night and the first night without I still slept 4 hours solid don't know if its because it stays in the system or not. Hopefully will start feeling better for getting some sleep shortly, really tempted to try without already but wary, sleeping pills that where meant to send me straight to sleep didn't work properly due to my anxiety levels but kept me asleep for a while.

I'm on sertraline for depression and anxiety, and temazepam to help me sleep once a week. The low doses of tz do nothing for me, I take 20mg which does knock me out but takes 2 hours to kick in.

I think they are similar drugs. Miracle pill as far as I'm concerned.

Didn't really want to double up the dose, but took another on last night and a tiny improvement, maybe.

Some people are v sensitive to the -pam drugs, and because they are highly addictive you would always be started on a low dose. That low dose may not be right for you, so tell your doc how it goes.
