Did you suffer from a lack of vitamin D ? If you took it, did it help with depression ?

And energy levels ? I have just had my blood test results, all is fine. I'm only lacking of vitamin d. I'm depressive and I take ads, lately I have suffered of lots of mood swings so I was worried.

I'm going to take the vitamin d, I just want to hear about your positive outcomes !

I started taking vitamin D in October and have not suffered the crippling depression which usually kicks in around the end of November.

We use a strong SAD light for 1/2 an hour on very dark mornings and there is a definite lack of motivation on non sunny days imo.

Energy levels are a bit battered just now but we all caught some sort of winter vom bug at Christmas and it is difficult to shake off the dizzy feeling and tiredness from the virus.

It has been easier to get fresh food/ fruit and veg this winter as it has been mild and I'm convinced that has helped our moods/energy, illness aside.

Thank you Gentle, I had a very rubbish xmas as I was exhausted and I slept a lot but now I'm hoping it will get better with supplement.

Our entire family went with the sentiment that if we felt tired, it was ok to sleep as much as you liked.Nobody felt like eating so we drank lots and ate yogurt.
The adults took turns to do whatever work was needed and the children slept a lot.
Now that the new year is established a bit, I feel like I've had a holiday or something.
I hope you feel better soon.

I dont know about vit d resolving depression, BUT i used it after being told it can resolve muscular aches resulting from its deficiency, at the time i had had these aches for going on 2 years, really bad aching all over, im talking first thing in the morning just waking, arms aching, legs etc, i used vit d and it all cleared up within 2 weeks.

I'm hoping that the vitamin d combined with ads and the pill (to help with the pms) will help me ! I have no energy and no self motivation. I need to go to the gym and lose weight !

I had vitamins D and calcium deficiency last year... I was exhausted, my body ached and no matter much sleep I got I needed more, I didn't feel depressed but I did feel alot more down than usual. I was prescribed a lozenge which was vit D & calcium combined and after a month or so I started to feel alot better :)
