Sad Feeling very weepy and my stomach is in knots
Was unable to sleep last night as i have developed anxiety over the neighbours and noise.Although the noise isnt exceptional they are inconsiderate as walls so thin.I lay all night shaking and trying not to be sick.

sorry for your situation.
isn't it possible to change where you live?

WelshCerys · 23/12/2011 13:32

Hi - is there any point in talking to the neighbours? I guess you've tried? Could anyone intervene on your behalf?
I don't think you should have to take meds because of noisy neighbours, though it may well help temporarily and you need to sleep.

Second the posts about podcasts. I'm learning a language and fall asleep listening to the repetitive drills on the podcast. Also, if I'm not quite asleep, I invent some sentences using newly acquired language and soon I'm asleep.

BBC has a great range of free podcasts - www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts

pfnm -you sound exhausted you poor thing.lacking sleep increases the anxiety so its like avicious circle isnt it?i hope the diazepam gives you a bit rest.made me all fuzzy round the edges.nice

Welshcerys -Tried talking about it once and was met with agression. It is more that the houses are poorly built it is like just having a plaster board joining wall.Because the neighbours are night owls it is not a good combination.

Noraa-We are considering selling up but would want a detatched property but would be difficult on our budget i imagine.

Got some sleep last night but tablets made me so sleepy all day.Stomach starting to knot up again now night time is upon us.

Thanks for all the kind posts.

Pelvicfloor, I can totally sympathise, my upstairs neighbours are noisy (not maliciously, they just stamp about a lot) and we have students next door who have really loud parties. Thankfully they all seem to have buggered off for Christmas. I have really bad anxiety problems anyway and the constant noise makes it so much worse.

Have you tried a white noise generator? You can get free ones on the internet, it has really worked for me in the past. Also, I have these earplugs and they do really work.

Hope you manage to find a solution.

Hi pelvicfloor just wanted to add support I have been there and it is horrible, when my neighbours are being noisy I seriously feel like I am going mad - it horrible.

This year my anxiety has been bad and difficult to contain, its really the fear of feeling anxious apart from anything else and is exhaughsting in its own right. Have you tried exercise? I find that does help me and distraction distraction distraction!!

Hope you feel better soon Smile
