Has anyone here had any experience of sertraline - particularly whilst b/feeding.

Please can you tell me what you think of it/if it worked etc.

TIA

biglipskissinunderthemistletoe · 01/12/2005 21:42

ok thanks

SnowQueenVictoria · 01/12/2005 21:44

did you have a bit of a weird swallowing thing pickasilly?

PickasillyChristmasName · 02/12/2005 13:59

SQV, just seen this - not quite sure what you mean about the swallowing thing. I did find that the sickness was helped by taking them just before bed.

SnowQueenVictoria · 02/12/2005 14:10

They make me quite sleepy - did they do that to you and did it wear off after a few weeks?

PickasillyChristmasName · 02/12/2005 22:29

Can't actually remember about whether or not they made me feel sleepy . I was having problems with sleep generally before I started taking them though and that improved.

SnowQueenVictoria · 02/12/2005 22:35

thanks pickasilly.

PickasillyChristmasName · 02/12/2005 22:35

Was looking at another one of your threads and I'm not all that far away from you - we live in Bedfordshire. And we both have contrary children (my DS was 2 last week).

PickasillyChristmasName · 02/12/2005 22:36

I think it is time I went to bed - my posts are starting to make even less sense than normal .

SnowQueenVictoria · 02/12/2005 22:38

Luton? do you have one or two kids?

PickasillyChristmasName · 02/12/2005 22:40

I have DS and a fairly new DD (10 weeks). We're just on the Beds side of the Beds/Herts border (about 10 miles from Stevenage)

SnowQueenVictoria · 02/12/2005 22:45

Sounding a bit like biggleswade then

is a trip into london too far for you?

PickasillyChristmasName · 02/12/2005 22:52

Near to Biggleswade . DD and I went to see a friend in Kew on Wednesday, although haven't tried going into London by train yet (and also haven't tried going too far with DS as well )

Really must go to bed as DH is away and if DS wakes up in the night I ill need to be functioning. Maybe DD will sleep a lot....although probably not

SnowQueenVictoria · 02/12/2005 22:55

i love that area, biggleswade, sandy etc. We were looking at moving there at one point.

Its scary going out with 2 kids especially if one is at an age where they can have huge tantrums AND get themselves out of their buggy harnesses.

Just wondered how you're getting on with the Lustral QV? I've started taking it today and am still BF dd too. Am concerned about the BF but as I only feed 2/3 times a day now, I hope it won't be so bad. Any side effects?

SnowQueenVictoria · 09/12/2005 14:34

Not that ive seen - thanks for asking Delgirl.

Apart from it making me drowsy (but i take it late evening) and it has helped me get to sleep easier as a by product so a good side effect i guess. I havent noticed anything in my DS so i guess thats good too. Ive felt better the last 2 or 3 days - which is supposedly too early to be related to the sertraline but im not knocking it.

Hope it works for you too

DelGirlsRingAreYouListening · 09/12/2005 14:39

I'm pleased you're feeling the benefit and thanks, I hope it works for me too.

DelGirlsRingAreYouListening · 09/12/2005 14:41

My script says I should take it in the morning? Maybe I should switch to night time if it makes you drowsy. Going back to the GP's in 2 weeks so I'll ask him then.

SnowQueenVictoria · 09/12/2005 15:14

oooh - i dont know!

When i went back to the gp on weds she said "sertraline doesnt make you drowsy" (NOT what the box says but anyway.....) "but if you think it makes you drowsy and helps you sleep, well thats great".

She's quite a good gp though generally

BelleFleur · 29/04/2006 01:53

hi, I am taking sertraline, 100 mg (originally 50 mg but asked for increase after birth of ds (2nd baby) due to pnd. I am bf ds and it is OK.
However, I am not sure if it helps, really. But am on it now and maybe it works as a placebo. I am on ad so i should feel better, or not? Maybe not all the time.
