Hi I take Citalapram ( think thats how you spell it) Anyhow have a wedding in 4 weeks my sisters and naturally I would like to have a drink with my family and friends and enjoy the evening. I've read the instructions/Advice on the leaflet and it say dont take Alcohol whist on them. What should I do? Should I not take a pill the day of the wedding and get drunk!
Can anyone help?

tbh i wont recommend it. Even missing one wont get rid of the build up in your body.

The advice on different leaflets says different things. The first packet I got didn't say anything about not drinking, the next one did. My GP said it was fine.

If anybody has differing info I'd be interested to know as well though

Why wouldnt you recommend it, do you know what effects can happen?
I drink the odd glass of wine with my supper, no effects! Is it bad for your liver or something!
Anyone out there a nurse or docter who knows?

Hmm I'm going to have a google and see what I can dig up.

I take 20mg and have no issue with drinking. I have also never been advised to abstain. Probably effects different people in different ways. I thoroughly enjoyed week long celebrations at a wedding in June!

LoveBeingInvitedToTheVIPSale · 30/09/2010 15:58

cleoismycat has hit it on the head, it effects different people in different ways. I know someone who had a bad reaction.

If you are determinded though I would do a test run.

I take 60mg a day and have no problem drinking whatsoever

GemmaG88 · 30/09/2010 20:22

I take 20mg a day and it was my engagement party last Saturday, I had quite a few drinks to be honest! I didn't take my tablet that evening and I didn't really notice any problems with missing it.

That being said, I'm sure that different people will be affected in different ways so I wouldn't take it as gospel - just my experience!

Also... my doctor did say it was alright to have a couple of drinks when I asked about it.

I take 20mg and drink on them. Doesn't make any difference to how I feel.

QueenofWhatever · 01/10/2010 20:40

No longer take it, but drank when I was on both 20mg and 40mg. Just don't go overboard!

duckyfuzz · 01/10/2010 20:45

when I was on it GP said it was ok to drink, in moderation

easilybruised79 · 01/10/2010 22:09

I think if it makes you happy to have a few drinks at a happy occasion what can the negative outcome of that be?

Personally i have had the occasional bottle of wine on 20 mg of prozac per day and it has done me no harm whatsoever, if anything, done me good to be having a good time!!

Thanks for all your replys, it's so reasuring to know i'm not alone in this. I will have a few drinks but I'm not a big drinker these days so going to take it in moderation and enjoy myself. Cheers mums.
