Need to lose a stone.
No point starting until all the Christmas goodies have gone so thought I'd start the first Monday of the year.

Anyone want to join me?

Me, I’d like to join. Fridge still full of goodies though too so 03rd Jan sounds like a good idea.

Does anyone have a weekly meal plan they could share ? I’ve looked online but can’t find anything for free.. (also trying a no spend jan after a super pricy December)..

Count me in, I was doing 5:2 in the run up to Christmas but undone all the hard work over Christmas, would love to lose a stone

Yay! We're set 👍🏻
Enjoy all the rubbish over the next couple of days everyone!

I haven't got a meal plan Incognitodorrito but I've used Nutracheck in the past to calories count and set out my week re Fast Days and Non-Fast Days.

Plan to have a NFD on Monday which will be substantially lower in calories to what I've been eating of late, then my first FD on Tuesday 😬

Happy New Year to all, here's to a lighter 2022!

Oh can I join you?
Monday 3rd sounds like a good plan - we are (hopefully) going to the theatre on Saturday and going to get lunch on the way.
I need to lose as much as possible!
I’m not even sure what I weigh - might have to put batteries in the scales.
I have used my fitness pal before.

I’d love to join. In the last 2 years I have lost just shy of 4 stone, gained fitness (although this has lapsed through sprained ankle and covid). I have one last push that I need to do this last stone 💪🏻 And would love some company! Happy new year all. Ps what calorie ratios are you working to?

BaconAndAvocado · 01/01/2022 14:51

mayhemensues 4 stone? Well done you!

Think my NFDs are 1725 and I have to choose either 500 or 800 cals for my FDs 🤨

I’ve just downloaded MyFitnessPal to start tracking and doing my best to eat my way through a box of Hotel chocolat to get them out the way for tomorrow !

I have downloaded nutracheck as I wanted a total fresh start, it lets you pick which days you want to fast. Today I am fasting as we are out for a lunch tomorrow 😬

Good luck everyone. Won’t join as going to reduce alcohol first as a first step. My 5:2 will start later.
5:2 is the best way I have ever lost weight - once it kicked in it worked and was sustainable long term.
Good luck

incognitodorrito 🤣that’s exactly what’s happening here, although I can’t honestly see myself scoffing 4 mince pies tonight.
Guess the birds will get them!

Im aiming to complete my first fasting day today, with no more than 500 cals. Kids at dads and working from home so nobody will notice if I get grumpy ! Just had breakfast of three chopped up tomatoes with parsley poured over half a thinly sliced cucumber and half a teaspoon of sesame oil with salt for flavour. Will skip lunch by walking the dog during my break. Anyone else fasting today ?

Can I join?? I did 5:2 very successfully after my final baby and kept it off with a once a week fast for a couple of years until Covid lockdown struck. I didn't realise that Nutracheck had a 5:2 setting until I read it here, so I have reset my account to 5:2 with Wed and Sat fast days this week. Will generally try to do Mon and Wed going forward tho.

I love a ‘salad’ of beansprouts (essential 5:2 item for me) tomatoes and low fat yoghurt (or some marinated tofu). I’m tackling alcohol first for a few weeks before getting back into 5:2.

Beansprout salad sounds lish @HeronLanyon - I’m at a loss recipes on fasting days so this will come in handy !

Yoghurt should have read cottage cheese but yoghurt and some lemon juice/garlic would be good too.

My first fast day......
Apple and yoghurt for breakfast.
Planning to make a winter vegetable soup for lunch.
Not sure about dinner....

Anyone know of good websites for fast day meal ideas?

Hi all, can I join? I've set my date for 10th Jan as that's when I'm back in work. Did fast 800 from sept-dec and lost a stone. Hoping to lose another half stone-stone. Following meal plan from the book for the next month then will return to 5:2.

Good luck @BaconAndAvocado - I have extremely low will power when it comes to snacking, but didn’t find it the first day too hard! I ended up having a whole steamed broccoli with a chopped tomato on top for dinner. I figured it would fill me up and was in bed early (9ish). Drank lots of water. Woke up this morning feeling really good !

My best fasting day meal is to fry up any vegetable with spray oil and spices, then have it with two or three poppadoms, fat free yogurt and Indian pickle. It's 200-300 calories, really filling and tasty

NorthSouthMiddle that sounds really tasty!
