Need to lose a stone.
No point starting until all the Christmas goodies have gone so thought I'd start the first Monday of the year.

Anyone want to join me?

incognitodorrito thanks, so far so good, haven't had any chocolate withdrawal symptoms but I know the venting will be tougher!

Can I join please? Smile

Did 5:2 a few years ago and lost about 35lbs (which unfortunately haven't stayed off during lockdowns, home working and house move)

Had a good nfd yesterday and my first FD today (breaking myself back in with 600cal fasts this week). So far so good although have awful headache Hmm

Hope everyone is doing well today 😁

BaconAndAvocado · 04/01/2022 20:38

I've managed (so far!) on 689 cals.
Doing 800 for fast days.

Managed to sneak in a Milky Way as part of my calorie intake 🙌🏻

Still got couple of hours on sofa with DH watching tv with NO SNACKS !!!

Well done @BaconAndAvocado ! I indulged a little too much on (leftover) chocolate and wine last night due to a busy day at work and ex husband came round. I think I was rewarding myself for completing my first FD the day before(!) I’m trying to aim for 500 on FDs and 1400 on normal days (with an allowance of upto 1900 on either a Friday or Saturday). I’ll need to stick to 1400 this weekend now to make up for it.

GinGinItsAWonderfulThing · 05/01/2022 07:53

Oh god. Today is my first proper fast day. 800 cals.

I’m starving because I’ve already been trying to just cut back calories in general, so feel hungry from the night before. But hopefully after a couple of painful days I will be less starving!

I can have cups of tea… right?! 😬

BaconAndAvocado · 05/01/2022 12:46

😂GinGinItsAWonderfulThing
Yes, you're allowed tea!
Obviously, herbal/fruit teas are negligible re cals.
According to Nutracheck, a mug of tea with semi-skimmed milk is 20 cals.

GinGinItsAWonderfulThing · 06/01/2022 07:50

@BaconAndAvocado I think by the end of yesterday I was made of 90% tea 🤣🤣🤣

BaconAndAvocado · 06/01/2022 08:33

It's tea all the way for me today!
2nd fast day......

me too @BaconAndAvocado
freezing cold here though already, how do others keep warm when fasting - lots of tea maybe Grin

BaconAndAvocado · 06/01/2022 10:26

I fully recommend a heated throw 🙂

Heading out for walk on the beach with the dog then I’m heading for the throw.

Hello all, this is my first fast day. I have at least half a stone to shift and like other folks here started with cutting out alcohol last week. I did 5:2 before and it really suited me as it reset my unhealthy eating. The problem I have this time is I have a very healthy vegan boyfriend who is a great cook and who eats masses as he exercises masses and i end up eating what he does! It is time to stop as I am now a stone heavier than when we got together, planning on Monday and Thursday being my fast days and having 500 cal. I love the stir fry idea above and will stealing taht! I have used my fitness pal previously. Is nutrafit better?

Nutrracheck even!

BaconAndAvocado · 10/01/2022 09:56

Welcome FlouryBap
I've never used Fitness Pal but I find Nutracheck very straightforward and easy to use.
Good luck 😊
