Any tips? And anyone want to join?

I'm going to start eating at 11/12 and eat until 7/8. I'm going to try calorie counting too but not as strict in the first few days while I get used to it.

malibubeach · 16/08/2019 14:35

I started it last weekend. I'm eating from 11am till 7pm and calorie counting too. Not weighed myself yet, going to give it another week. What I will say though, is that my appetite has reduced dramatically. I used to be hungry ALL THE TIME! I also feel less bloated. Fingers crossed for some loss next week

Blubluboo · 16/08/2019 15:26

Thanks Malibu I was going to start today but forgot I had massive pasty to eat up so although i didn't eat until 11.30, i have binged since. So really not good. I want to feel less bloated too. It has been a difficult few weeks in terms of not being at home or in one place so I am thinking next week will be much easier to plan etc... as I'll be at home and back to working properly.

Are you eating lunch and dinner?

OP posts:
malibubeach · 17/08/2019 13:44

I'm having lunch and dinner and a snack in between. I've been having around 1200 calories but that might be too low as I really don't feel I've lost anything Sad
Once you get into the swing of it you might also feel your appetite decreasing. Think I need to read up on it a bit more!

Waiting1987 · 17/08/2019 15:30

Hi. I'm going to start this tomorrow. Plan to eat at 12.30 and finish about 7.30pm. Love breakfast so will definitely take a bit of adjustment.

Feelingfortyisntfun · 17/08/2019 17:26

I am unsure if this is helpful or not. I went away last week and had breakfast every day , food was all very healthy and low carb but I’ve gained weight. Having breakfast increases my appetite.

Good luck and it takes a while to adjust to no brekkie but has great benefits

Blubluboo · 17/08/2019 21:56

Thanks everyone. Weekend definitely hasn't been the time to start! Going food shopping when I get back from a weekend away tomorrow and will 100% be starting on Monday.

Will aim for 12 lunch, snack about 3/ 4 and then dinner around 6:30.

malibu I am aiming for 1200 too. Are you drinking lots of water?

Dreamscomingtrue · 17/08/2019 22:08

My son has been doing this diet and eats from about 11am until 7pm and has lost nearly a stone over the past few months. I’m going to start it too soon. I did read that you can vary the 8 hour period, so at weekends/holidays you could eat earlier or later and the diet would still work.

Blubluboo · 17/08/2019 22:58

Thanks it is good to hear success stories! I just need the will power now!

Hey :). I'm planing on starting this tomorrow. I had my second baby 4 weeks ago and Im feeling huge. Im 5ft so any weight shows very quickly on me.I think im going to aim for between 12-8. Also going to increase my water intake as im awful when it comes to drinking water.

Waiting1987 · 18/08/2019 12:47

Well I failed today! Definitely start tomorrow...

LollyBmummy3 · 18/08/2019 16:38

Diva it’s very early for you to be worrying about weight. But if you feel up to it, go for it. I’m doing this too. My youngest is nearly 11 months and I still have half a stone to lose. It’s seems the last few pounds are the hardest to shift!😩

Blubluboo · 19/08/2019 11:16

diva just like lolly said, don't push yourself but if you feel up to it then go for it :)

Okay so day 1 is officially here. I have just weighed myself in boots as I am hoping they are trustworthy scales?! Every time I weigh at home they give different results.

Day 1: 11st 12lbs. I am really shocked. I thought I was about 11st 3!! This should hopefully motivate me.

Please do let us know how you are all getting on and any meal ideas. It'll help keep me motivated.

I am just about to pop to home bargains as I have a day off today. So will probably eat about 12. I am going to have a bagel thin with Philadelphia light and some spinach and tomatoes.
Tea will be pasta and meatballs with veg tom sauce. I have some possible snacks in for mid afternoon. I am alone today and always feel a bit weird going out alone but I really fancy a walk on the beach (despite it being rainy...!) But may go for it this afternoon to keep my mind away from food.

Good luck everyone!

I'm jumping on this thread because I keep meaning to start 16:8 but not really committing to it. Also I've just read that I'm the same weight as the OP and I too was shocked because in my head I was closer to 11st 3lbs Shock. I think it's a sign! Wink

I'm going to start with 14:10 to begin with so cheating a bit!

Plainandsimple · 19/08/2019 14:11

Can I join? Smile I’m on school holidays (term time job) and seem to have added another half stone to my already lardy arse - I’m in serious doubt as to whether my work clothes will still fit next month! I had a cup of tea and water until 12pm today, then toast & marmite, 2 bananas and a coffee. My plan is to cut right down on bread & sugar (borderline diabetic & PCOS), 16/8 most days and building meals around veg & protein - wish me luck!

LizzieBananas · 19/08/2019 14:20

I’ve just started 16:8 although some days are closer to 14:10 with timings of family meals. Lost 5 pounds since the start of the month.

I’m using the app Zero to track my fasts.

Waiting1987 · 19/08/2019 17:14

I ate at 12.30 and had a small bowl of Greek yoghurt with nuts/dried fruit. Just had dinner at 5pm and had a baguette with coronation chicken/cheese and chips. Blush Not a healthy day but hoping that I've stayed under 1300 calories.

Blubluboo · 19/08/2019 19:50

Welcome all, I am so happy to see so many of you on board. I hope you'll all find this board useful and will keep coming back to check in daily :-)
I didn't end up eating until 12.45 and am about to have pasta and meatballs, I haven't weighed my pasta which I know I should do but I can't find my scales. I will have another look tomorrow and if not then I will buy some! I have definitely cooked less than I normally would! It is all a learning process and I'm allowing myself 1200 cals a day so even if I've gone slightly over, it is still a hell of a lot less than I normally have!

I have a question though, how much pasta do you recommend ? In grams, dry weight please! I am finding it hard to work out cals for it.

Blubluboo · 19/08/2019 19:51

lizzie thanks for recommending the app. I will check it out!

Does anyone here do instagram? Any good people to follow that are doing this plan?

OP posts:
LizzieBananas · 20/08/2019 11:38

70g dry pasta or rice for an adult portion.

Lost another pound today for a total of 7lb since 1st August.

Don’t do Instagram but there are plenty of blogs out there.

Blubluboo · 20/08/2019 12:22

Thank you, do you know how many calories that would be please?

Well done, that is a fantastic loss!

I'm aiming to weigh every monday give or take a day. Just broken my fast.

Had a bagel thin with philadelphia light and spinach and some plum tomatoes.
Will have a bagel for lunch all week as it is easy to prepare and I'm back to work tomorrow.
I will be honest I have found the last hour really tough but came to the seaside for a walk. I think smelling the chip shop didn't help Haha!
I'm feeling great that I lasted though. Really determined to make it through a week and see the results.

I haven't brought any snacks out with me and will probably get home about 3.30. I may have a cup of tea in a cafe shortly.

OP posts:
Waiting1987 · 20/08/2019 18:08

12.25 Greek yoghurt with nuts and dried fruit, dinner 5.00pm chicken baguette and salad, one ice lolly and will have fruit before 7pm.

Blubluboo · 20/08/2019 20:51

I ended up eating 30 mins over the 8 hours due to a late running meeting and I think I had about 1300 cals today. I found 3-5ish really tricky and wanted to binge. Tomorrow I will be at work at that time so I'm hoping that will take my mind off it!

OP posts:
Blubluboo · 21/08/2019 19:38

How is everyone getting on??

I again found the last nourish before eating today really tough. But the afternoon went much better. Although the weirdest thing has just happened.. I literally can't finish my food?! I'm too full up which I find really odd. The last 2 nights I've been so hungry and wilted my food down. I've left quite a fair bit of pasta tonight!!

OP posts:
Waiting1987 · 21/08/2019 20:41

I think I had more calories today. Bigger bowl of yoghurt at lunch and picked at kids dinner after mine. Plan tomorrow is a Cup-a-Soup at 12.30 and then nothing until dinner. Want to use my calories on a nice dinner.

I've not been missing breakfast too much, but today was really hungry by 12.

Feelingfortyisntfun · 21/08/2019 22:57

I had been letting breakfast sneak back in ... first a cappuccino (it’s a drink don’t you know...) then ended up being 2 very milky cappuccino s every day and usual then wanting a snack at 10 am returned. Going to have black coffee tomorrow am and not eat until 1.

Good luck all!
